I took this photo peering outside my hotel window in Florence. In all likelihood Mika’s Grace Kelly was probably playing in the background as MTV Italia was obsessed with the song at the time, and my roommates and I were obsessed with MTV Italia.

Salute Your Solution is by the supergroup The Raconteurs. A supergroup is a band made up of individuals well known from other projects like Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young or Broken Social Scene. Apparently, The Raconteurs don’t consider themselves a supergroup, Jack White (The White Stripes and The Dead Weather), Brendan Benson, Jack Lawrence (The Greenhornes, Blanche, and the Dead Weather) and Patrick Keeler (The Greenhornes) instead insist that they are just “a new band made up of old friends.” – Artists right? We don’t deserve this gibberish. They are a supergroup.

Salute Your Solution is the first single from their second album. It was released in 2008 and has since been used on the Zombieland soundtrack. I like the way it fits with the photo.
