One of the great things about this time of year are the many lists of the best music of the past twelve months. For 2011, new artist Lana Del Ray seems to be reigning over the indie music kingdom. This is not surprising, the girl’s got a fantastic low voice and a unique slow steady style, her first single “Video Games” has been hit all over the bloggosphere.

As “Video Games” has such an online presence, I hesitate to use it… but she’s definitely worth a listen. So I’ve settled for featuring the similarly low-key sounds of the Swedish band Koop and linking through Lana underneath.
